Student-Led Clubs
At our Academy High, our student-led clubs aren't just extra-curricular; they are an essential part of the educational journey. Our diverse range of clubs offer an array of experiences that enrich the lives of our students by assisting students to discover and pursue their passions, develop leadership skills, and build friendships.
Join the Business Club to explore the world of entrepreneurship, or embrace your inner wizard with the Magic - The Gathering Club. Make a difference in the community through the Caring Crew or X-Time Clubs, express your artistic side with the Fiber Arts Club, or dive into the world of cinema with the Film Club.
For those seeking epic adventures, the Dungeons and Dragons Club awaits, while the Creative Collaborations Club fosters collaboration and innovation. Promote inclusivity with the Queer-Straight Alliance and empower women with the Women Empowered Club. Hone your debating skills with the Debate Club, and compose beautiful melodies in the Music Composition Club.
The best part about our clubs is that any student can create a club at any time. Students with an idea for a club work closely with faculty to help bring their bright ideas to life!
Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a co-curricular educational initiative dedicated to nurturing a fervent love for science, medicine, and engineering among students.
Our students have embraced the spirit of inquiry, innovation, and teamwork as they've excelled in various Science Olympiad competitions. With dedication, perseverance, and guidance from our exceptional faculty, they have achieved outstanding success, earning recognition on local, regional, and state levels.

Rock Band
On Wednesday's throughout the semester students across all grades at Academy High get together and practice a rock and roll music set. Led by local musician Mike Ingram, students will play different instruments and take turns singing. At the end of each semester, the Rock Band plays a show at a local venue. Whether a student has been playing music their whole life, or just picked up their instrument, there is a place for them in the band!
Career Exploration
The Career Exploration program at Academy High connects the classroom to students' future life goals through the development of self-exploration, career exploration, planning, and management skills necessary for their joy and success during and after high school. The program is made up of three different components:

Lunch and Learn Program
This series invites guest speakers from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences in their career field with students. A primary objective is to give students a lens through which to understand one person’s journey on a particular career path.
Speakers as part of this series have included college deans, lead dynamics engineers, digital communications managers, videographers, library directors, professors, non-profit leaders, real-estate brokers, small business owners, archivists, doctors, and computer scientists!
As part of their career exploration process, many Academy High students choose to pursue opportunities as shadows or interns with local businesses and organizations. Students work with faculty to identify shadowing or internship opportunities that speak to student’s career interests.
Previous internship hosts include local manufacturing firms, financial advisors, and veterinary clinics, as well as national publishers and non-profit organizations.
Senior Milestone Trip
A senior trip is a memorable event for high school students as they celebrate their impending graduation and the end of their academic journey as a class. The Senior Milestone Trip is an opportunity for seniors to travel and bond with their classmates before they embark on their individual paths. This trip takes place in the spring of the senior year (starting in the 2023-2024 school year).
Study Abroad
Our study abroad program is a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a new culture, while also gaining valuable academic experience. These short-term, faculty-led trips connect directly to our world language program.
Students have the opportunity to explore new cities and regions, try new foods, and make lifelong friendships with students from around the world. Our high school study abroad program is an unforgettable experience that will broaden students' horizons, enhance their cultural understanding, and prepare them for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
