Event Details:

• What: Interactive 2-hour Circuit Workshop
• When: Wednesday, April 17th, 4:30-6:30
• Where: Academy High
• Who: Open to Current 8th-12th Grade Students (Limited to First 25 Sign Ups!)
• Cost: Free!

We will have pizza and refreshments for attendees to enjoy mid-way through the event! 

Led by Illinois Robotics in Space (IRIS), a student organization at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign that focuses on empowering K-12 students to expand their horizons in STEM. IRIS is a multidisciplinary organization that gives students the opportunity to develop an innovative robotic system in a peer-based learning environment.

What to Expect:

• Introduction to STEM Concepts: Spend the first 30-40 minutes learning from IRIS students about semiconductors, logic gates, and the exciting world of circuits.
• Hands-On Activities: Then, engage in two captivating projects:

1. Implementing NAND and NOR gates using MOSFET
2. Exploring Oscillating LEDs

• Guidance from University Students: Work in small teams led by university students to foster a supportive learning environment.
• No Prior Experience Necessary: Whether you're a beginner or a budding STEM enthusiast, this event is perfect for you!
